Graven looks like what fans think the '90s shooters looked like, even though the fidelity and effects are miles beyond anything that could be accomplished back then. The trailers show off a throwback 3D design that is crisp and stylish and succeeds in one key aspect of designing retro shooters: the nostalgia factor. Announced earlier this year with an impressive story trailer and gameplay trailer, Gravenlooks to be another entry in the retro shooter genre that brings back a classic game aesthetic with modern trappings. But where other games like Prodeusand Dusk are loving throwbacks to DOOMand Quake respectively, Graven is setting its sights on a different classic for inspiration: the 1995 fantasy shooter Hexen.
